Survival Workshops

The Survival Skills Workshop is a hands-on, land-based learning experience that helps participants build practical skills, confidence, teamwork and a stronger connection to the land. Participants learn foundational survival skills such as safe fire-building and fire-starting techniques, preparing for time on the land, problem-solving, working together and responding to unexpected situations. The workshop emphasizes learning by doing rather than sitting through a presentation, giving participants opportunities to practice skills, take on challenges and build confidence in their own abilities. Cultural knowledge, respect for the land and traditional ways of learning are woven throughout the experience, and the workshop can also include traditional medicine and medicine-making activities. Beyond learning survival techniques, the experience is designed to strengthen resilience, leadership, communication, resourcefulness and connection, leaving participants with practical knowledge they can continue to build on after the workshop.
